On June 26th, Raza Nostra, a butcher shop located in the Chamartán market, received the award for the best meat trading company in the Community of Madrid, awarded by Carnimad, the organization that represents butchers, delis, polleros and casqueros in the area.
A panel of experts on the meat sector, composed of Javier López, director of Provacuno; José Luis Collazos, coach of the Spanish selection of butchers; Jess Cruz, director of Eurocarne; Jorge Cocero, Head of Chronicles in C of Communication; and Rafael Cruz, manager of CRUZ SL, scored among several finalists in the areas of product, design, innovation, development and digitization, recognizing Raza Nostra as the best meat shop in the Community of Madrid 2023. Julin Lpez, manager of Las Viandas de Julin, the company that received this award in 2022, was responsible for presenting the award to Juan José Rodríguez, the company’s founder, during the celebration of the II Chronicle Trade Meeting in Madrid who accepted it with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Raza Nostra was one of the pioneers in the sale of cured meats in Spain, and also one of the first butchers in our country to focus on the importance of the breed of animal when buying a piece or two.
It was in 2002 that Carlos Rodríguez, son of Juan José Rodríguez, proposed a new business model for the family company, based on new products and changes in name and image. A bet with an optimal result, since it envisaged a different concept of slaughter, in which the breed of the animal became an important factor in the selection of one piece or another. Another point that was rated very positively was the concern of this company to constantly evolve and adapt to new trends and shopping formats. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this 2023 Raza Nostra is an example of reinvention and perspective for the future.
