Raza Nostra, a butcher shop in the Chamartín market, received the award for best meat trading company in the Community of Madrid, given by Carnimad, the organization that represents butchers, charcuteros, polleros and casqueros in the area.
A panel of experts on the meat sector, composed of Javier López, director of Provacuno; José Luis Collazos, coach of the Spanish Butchers national team; Jesús Cruz, Director of Eurocarne; Jorge Cocero, Head of Meat at C de Comunicación; and Rafael Cruz, manager of CRUZ SL, scored among several finalists in the areas of product, design, innovation, development and digitization, recognizing Raza Nostra as the best meat shop in the Community of Madrid 2023. Julián López, manager of Viandas de Julián, the company that received this award in 2022, was in charge of presenting the award, as part of the celebration of the II Madrid Meat Trade Meeting, to Juan José Rodríguez, founder of the company, who presented it received with enthusiasm and gratitude.
It was in 2002 when Carlos Rodríguez, son of Juan José Rodríguez, proposed a new business model for the family company, based on new products, a change of name and image. A bet with an optimal result, since it envisaged a different concept of slaughter, in which the breed of the animal became an important factor in the selection of one piece or another. Another point that was rated very positively was the concern of this company to constantly evolve and adapt to new trends and shopping formats. This Raza Nostra celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023 and is an example of reinvention and future perspective.
In this way, Carnimad continues to promote the development and growth of the specialized meat trade, recognizing the work of the professionals who compose it and promoting their unity and collaboration with a view to a future that requires innovation and specialization.
