Record breaking heat waves in India, Pakistan bringing extreme weather in April – National | Nation World News

Parts of India recorded their highest average temperature in April, officials said on Saturday, and the scorching weather is expected to extend till May.


India and neighboring Pakistan have been afflicted this year by severe heat waves, melting sidewalks, closing schools and triggering health and fire alerts.

The Director General of the India Meteorological Department told reporters that the average maximum temperatures in Northwest and Central India in April were 35.9 and 37.78 Celsius (96.6 and 100 Fahrenheit), respectively.
