France: Red Sea Becomes Warbase Amid Israel-Hamas War After America Attacks French Warship Today

Claimed series of naval attacks

Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have vowed to target ships operating in the Red Sea. The Houthis are Israel’s staunchest enemies. They claimed a series of naval attacks since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by Hamas militants, sparking their latest and deadliest war.

The missions of the French Navy are

The French army ministry said the drones were headed straight for Languedoc, two hours away from the direction of Yemen. This time the warship destroyed them both about 110 kilometers (70 mi) from the Red Sea port of Al Hudaydah on the coast of Yemen. The statement did not specify what weapon Languedoc used to bring down the drone. The warship is on a mission for the French Navy in the Red Sea.

A US Navy warship was also attacked

Earlier, a US Navy warship was also targeted in the Red Sea. Many cargo ships including warships were attacked here. Two Israeli cargo ships were reportedly attacked. The Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attacks on the two Israeli ships, but a spokesman for the rebels did not say anything about the American warship.
