Proposed implementation date of the 40-hour workday

Working hours in Mexico 2023: from 48 to 40 hours per week
Last April, an important reform of the labor law was made by the Constitutional Points Commission of the Chamber of Deputies. This reform, which deserves recognition, was supported by 27 votes in favor and only 5 abstentions. This reform aims to change article 123 of the Mexican Political Constitution, which focuses on working hours. Thanks to this change, the reduction of the mandatory working day from 48 to 40 hours was established, in addition to the extension of rest days from one to two.
