Renata Vaca talks about her debut in the “Saw” series

On September 29th the tenth part of the film “The Game of Fear” (Looking for John Kramer’s character) is back. This film also returns actress Shawnee Smith, who plays Amanda Young, and Mexican singer-songwriter and actress Renata Vaca joins the cast, making her debut in the “Saw” world or franchise.

“A sick and desperate John travels to Mexico to undergo a risky, experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miraculous cure for his cancer, only to discover that the entire operation is a scam designed to defraud the most vulnerable. In an interview with Publimetro, singer, actress and YouTuber Renata Vaca shared that her love for horror came from the fact that her uncle was a big fan of horror and he forced her to watch horror films and that’s where she immersed herself in this world. The Mexican revealed that at the time of casting she had to recreate two scenes from the film. However, she auditioned for two roles, so she had to rehearse four scenes in total: “My character has a very special bond.” In Jigsaw, I am the first face he sees when he arrives in Mexico. I think Gabriela’s character can be endearing,” he said with a laugh.

As for physical and mental preparation, she said she likes to imagine things that aren’t in the script as it helps her draw a mental map of what the person is like. On the other hand, the film was shot in Mexico and this country plays a very important role: “One of the filming locations was 30 minutes from Chiconcuac and the other is in a factory in Azcapotzalco.” It should be noted that Jigsaw appears here for the first time as Protagonist is shown because he is the one telling the story: “It doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen the first or second or any other ‘Saw’ movie, you understand it and enjoy it, it’s like a almost independent film, but it lives in the universe, it’s what fans want to see in the truest sense of the word.”

Renata Vaca revealed that during one of their conversations with actor Tobin Bell, they raised the question of whether they would one day develop their own game: “If I understand the character from psychology, I would never use these methods, but then see You How his crazy mind works, that is, how the character works, and it is a path to awakening.
