Rep. Jamie Ruskin drafts Supreme Court against Roe v. Wade

Rape. Jamie Ruskin (D-Md.) on Monday in Roe v. Wade overturned the Supreme Court after a draft majority opinion published by Politico exposed the dystopia in full on “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

“Roe was seriously wrong from the start,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the document, per Politico. “We believe that Roe and Casey should be dismissed … it is time to pay attention to the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the elected representatives of the people.”

In an interview with Rachel Maddow, a constitutional lawyer, Ruskin called the leaked opinion “astonishing and appalling” and said it would end all abortion rights.

“It sets the American path where Fox News and Tucker Carlson want to go, which we now have to build in the image of Hungarian ‘liberal’ democracy. To continue with the election, where people are told about the various scapegoats. Can be whipped. But to carve and destroy the liberties and rights of the people,” Ruskin said.

The court’s official ruling on the matter will be final only after it is published, and judges can change their votes by then, meaning nothing has been decided yet.

Ruskin concurred with the draft opinion that the word “abortion” does not appear in the constitution—nor does “contraception” or the phrase “right to privacy”—though that doesn’t mean those rights shouldn’t be protected.

cry v. Wade was based on an earlier 1965 decision that struck down a law banning birth control, stating that the Constitution’s “freedom of due process clause includes the right to privacy when making intimate decisions,” says Ruskin. he said. If Roe collapses, it will also threaten the right to contraception and privacy.

Raskin, referring to the novel by Margaret Atwood, said that the draft opinion “seems to be an invitation for ‘Handmaid’s Tale’-type of anti-feminist regulation and legislation across the country in which women are forced to give birth.” ” Government run by men.

Ruskin also said that the draft opinion signals a return to the Supreme Court’s “historic baseline of being a reactionary, conservative institution to the authority of everything else at the federal level in government.”
