An uncalled foul on LeBron James was one of seven unforced fouls in the first overtime period during Thursday night’s game between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, according to the NBA Last Two Minutes report released Monday.
James’ shot attempt tied the score with 2.9 seconds remaining in the first overtime. According to the report, Mavs forward Christian Wood “initiated contact with James’ left hand prior to blocking the shot” and the illegal contact affected James’ shot attempt.
After the block, according to reports, the referee should have whistled for a loose ball foul on Luka Doncic for making contact with Wayne Gabriel’s arm.
The Mavericks won 119–115 in double overtime.
The lack of decision that bothered the Lakers most after Thursday’s game (Lakers guard Troy Brown Jr.’s shot late in regulation when Tim Hardaway Jr. made contact with the ball and Brown’s hand) was ruled fair.
According to the report, Hardaway “legally challenged” Brown’s shot attempt and made contact with the ball.
