At one time, we have the possibility of will discover smart home-oriented Xiaomi devices at the end of the week and thus identify the part of its ecosystem that exists in Chile.
Previously, we had the opportunity to learn about a smart kettle, especially the Xiaomi Mi Smart Kettle Pro review you can find at the following link:
Today we bring you a very simple device, but at the same time it is very useful, especially when we have a cold. This is a smart humidifier, especially the Xiaomi Mi Smart Antibacterial Humidifier.
This device is an ultrasonic humidifier that can diffuse a cool visible mist into the air to soften your room, in addition to a 4.5 liter water tank.
If you want to know more about this Xiaomi humidifier, continue reading this little analysis that we have done for you and maybe it will be an alternative purchase for your home.
Let’s get started!
Design
As I mentioned before, this humidifier has the capacity to store up to 4.5 liters of water, so you don’t have to deal with such a small device. In fact, its dimensions are: 190 x 190 x 353 mm, while its weight reaches 1.9 Kg.
At the top we can find a small hole where the fog comes out, although this cover can also be removed to expose the water tank so that we can easily fill it. If we use it at its maximum capacity, we will have about 12 to 15 hours of fog.
The water tank can also be removed so that we have access to the internal area of the device when we want to clean it. Here in this place there is also ultraviolet light (UV-C) that immediately sterilizes the water and thus receives a healthy mist.
For safety reasons, opening this part of the device when it is fully functional will automatically stop the system and will not resume operation until the water tank is reinstalled.
Returning to the outside, we see a transparent line that helps us see the level of water present. It also glows white, so it’s great when we’re in the dark. Apparently the lights can be completely deactivated.
Further down we have a button to turn on the device and another bigger one to choose the level of power that will be emitted by the fog (I will tell you about it later), and if we continue to descend, we will find we have some air vents around. based on the device. device.
On the back we have another button and light that will allow us to connect to the Wi-Fi network and also show the status of that connection.
Parts
Our device has a Wi-Fi connection, so we can use it with the Mi Home app and we can even manage it from outside our home, in addition to being compatible with Google Assistant, and I understand that it also works with Alexa.
When we connect it to the Mi Home app, the first thing you see is the level of humidity that is in the room. In my case there is 64% humidity, which corresponds to the “Comfort” level.
As for the control, we can turn it on and off, and choose whether we want the device to keep the lights on or off, as well as the “beep” sound it emits every action.
The humidifier has three levels that we can also choose from the app. There are Low, Medium, and High levels for the fog to come out. Then we have the “Humidity” mode, which allows us to choose a percentage from 40 to 70% so that the humidifier maintains the humidity in the room at the level we set.
In this mode, the level is automatically adjusted, so it is possible that in some times we will see a lot of fog and in other times we will see a little fog. The good thing is that the noise emitted by the humidifier is small, and if we use it at night, it will not bother you, although it will bother you, it is best to choose the “Low” mode.
We also have a section called “Scheduled On/Off”, which will allow us to set times for the device to automatically turn on or off.
That’s all in terms of functions, then we have the configuration section where we can change the name, share the device with other users, update the firmware, apply a security code and tan -see information about the Wi-Fi network where it is. connected to the humidifier, such as signal strength, IP address, etc.
Relationship
As you already know, this device has a Wi-Fi connection, so you can connect it to your home network and thus control it remotely from the Mi Home application.
The good thing is that you do NOT need to have a Xiaomi Hub installed in your home, it is enough to have a Wi-Fi connection with internet access.
Thanks to the latter, we can also synchronize it with Google Assistant. This process is done through the Home application, you select the “Works with Google” option, select Xiaomi, log in with the same account you have in the Mi Home app and the humidifier will automatically appear in the application.
This way, you can say “Ok Google, turn on the humidifier,” and you’ll see the device turn on automatically. You can also turn it off, set a timer, and other functions.
Conclusion
The Xiaomi humidifier arrived at my house at a very good time, because I was suffering from the flu. It was enough to turn on the humidifier in my room for a few hours to increase the humidity and I felt more comfortable.
If you don’t know, dear reader, humidifiers are great for colds, coughs, irritation of the nasal passages, etc., because they help our home to stop dry air and start with more humidity.
I really like how the device operates, from having a light inside which looks really nice at night, to the point that the noise is minimal, at least it doesn’t bother me.
Another thing I appreciate is that, unlike other humidifiers, here I can pour water directly from the tap, because the ultraviolet light inside it destroys all the bacteria in the water, releasing a perfect which is safe fog.
Finally, I like that it has Wi-Fi, so I can control it with the Google voice assistant or create routines to turn it on automatically, and best of all, it doesn’t need an external Hub.
AVAILABLE
The model we had to test is no longer available in Xiaomi stores, in fact, it is the first version. Version 2 is now on sale, with the same functions you see here, but with many improvements. For example, version 2 has two mist outlets that rotate so that the mist spreads 360º.
The Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2 retails for CLP$89,990 at Mi Store Online, although you can find the Lite version for CLP$49,990.
