Roads, transit, internet: what’s in the infrastructure bill

WASHINGTON — The $1 trillion infrastructure plan that now goes to President Joe Biden to sign into law has money for roads, bridges, ports, rail transit, safe water, power grids, broadband Internet and more.

The House passed the bipartisan plan on Friday night, and Biden said he would hold a signing ceremony on Saturday when lawmakers return from a week’s break.

The new law promises to reach almost every corner of the country. It is a historic investment that the President has compared to building the Transcontinental Railroad and the Interstate Highway System. The White House estimates that the investment will add about two million jobs on average per year over the coming decade.
