Roadster vs Cyberster: Which is the best electric sports car?

You may or may not be interested in electric vehicles or may not want them at all, but there is no denying the compelling benefits of this form of energy. Thanks to their ability to transmit all their touch and power instantly and directly to their wheels, electric cars achieve brutal acceleration.

Tesla, for example, has already managed to shock the world with the practically “absurd” acceleration achieved by its Model S plaid sedan. Impressive and even somewhat “ridiculous” is that this is only the beginning, with the concept still missing since its arrival: the Tesla Roadster. He himself plans to break all records and become the fastest production car in the world.

Tesla vs MG

It is estimated that this “missile” will reach the market in 2024 with a price of about 175,000 thousand dollars. Now, it always seems like everything has a Chinese version and this case will be no exception. It turns out that for its part, MG Motors – a firm that has been doing very well in Europe – has announced its new sports model: the MG Cyberster.

Yes, we know what you’re thinking and no, this is not a joke… MG has decided to unite the names of two of the most anticipated cars on the planet and that belong to Tesla: The Roadster and the Cybertruck . But with the latter it only shares part of the name, as the Asian-origin convertible is in fact very similar to the Elon Musk-led company’s sports model.

Vehicle

That’s why before showing you the pictures of both the sports cars, we will do a little review about their composition and advantages. Tesla hasn’t revealed its final horsepower yet, but there are two of the figures it provided that are truly surprising. First, its ability to reach a top speed of over 400 km/h. Second, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds. But that’s not all, it promises to accelerate from 0 to 160 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and cover the quarter mile in 8.8 seconds.

Apart from reaching these stupendous records, there is also the fact that according to the Elon Musk-led company, the roadster will have a range of 1,000 kms as per the United States homologation standards. It is clear that it is a big challenge, to equip a sports car with its limited space and maximum weight, with a battery with enough energy capacity to travel so many kilometers.

Cyberster

MG for its part also promises to deliver exciting driving with a sports car with the performance of a supercar. There will be two versions with different numbers of electric motors, the standard first which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around five seconds, and the more powerful double electric motor model which achieves this in just three seconds, or possibly depends on less than this. What did the producer say?

Throughout its history, MG has always had a great reputation, especially with models such as the MG Midget, MGB and MGB GT, as a “people’s sports car”: lots of fun at affordable prices for middle-income people .

In this case though, the Cyberster won’t be cheap, but prices will be well below other powerful two-seater roadsters in the market, which start around €57,000 for the single engine and €67,000 for the dual engine. more powerful. After learning a little more about these two similar electric sports options, but belonging to two different worlds… which one would you choose?
