MIAMI ( Associated Press) — Keibert Ruiz had three hits, including a go-ahead double in the 10th inning, and the Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 5-4 on Wednesday.
Fellow Venezuelan Cesar Hernandez tripled and doubled, Maikel Franco had two singles and compatriot Juan Soto walked three for the Nationals, who avoided their second sweep in a three-game series against the Marlins this season.

Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s sacrifice fly off Washington reliever Tanner Rainey (1-1) with the bases loaded in the ninth inning tied the score at 4-4. The Nationals were unsuccessful in appealing that Jesus Sanchez had left third base before Soto caught Chisholm’s drive in right field.
Mexican Victor Arano retired the 10th inning for his first save.
