The Castillo San Felipe cultural space will host the concerts of a new edition of the Up & Down festival from this Wednesday, May 17 to May 21, this time hosting a total of five performances, co-starring Puertas al Sur, Morimoto Sisters, Polo Will do The Orti trio, Eboli and the duo of Gino Marcello and Eliseo Loreda.
The concerts of this seventh edition will start at 8:30 pm and all cost three euros. Tickets can be withdrawn through the website www.tickets.es. The Up and Down Festival is sponsored by Promotur (Turismo de Canarias), the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development, the Culture Sector of Cabildo de Tenerife and the Puerto de la Cruz City Hall.
This Wednesday, the leading role will be Puertas al Sur, a project that seeks to pay tribute to Latin American culture and its literary richness and cultural imagination through representative themes of Latino identity and other little-known popular songs. , which reveals the beauty of music with history and the depth full of misconceptions. On Thursday the 18th, it will be the Morimoto Sisters, a vocal duo composed of two Japanese sisters, Satomi and Emiko Morimoto, who combine music from the East and the West in their repertoire, which thanks to their singular voices has a very high displayed on the level. and virtuosity. on the piano.
On Friday the 19th, the festival receives the Polo Orti Trio, composed of Polo Orti on piano/keyboards, Victor Merlo on bass and Juanjo Orti on drums, a project that draws on the individual and unique character that Orti cultivated in many manages to do. His compositions and which have earned him many accolades from such important jazz musicians as Gary Burton, George Pardo and Lyle Mays.
The day before the end of the activity, Ebolia, a musical quintet, the result of a union of musicians who love flamenco, will take the stage. What they themselves call an excellent selection of Andalusian pieces they present in a show that excites and entertains ‘musical flowers’.
The closing day will have as protagonists the pianist Gino Marcelli and the guitarist Eliseo Loreda, who present a beautiful duet format, in which the melodies are an excuse for improvisation, above all a good conversation between two friends, in which for this moments are also included.
