Saratoga field hockey beats South Glens Falls in overtime

Aubrey Ayde scored in extra time and Grace Holtby made 10 saves when Saratoga Springs beat South Glens Falls 2-1 in an out-of-league field hockey game on Monday.

Ida helped Ellie Schamberger score a goal in the first period, while Lillian Willis pulled out the Bulldogs even in the third quarter.

Alessia Simon’s overtime goal brought Queensbury a 1-0 win over Jonestown in the Foothills Council match.

Kauris Bell and Austin Jones scored two goals each and sent Middleburg 4-1 past Galway in the boys’ Western Athletic Conference football match.

In a Suburban Council game, Owen Everett, Ben Baker and Eric Nytellari scored for CBA in a 3-2 win over Niscayuna.

Eli Charlebois scored a penalty in the first half, scoring when Maple Hill beat Chalmont 1-0 in the Wildcats championship match.

William Hernigl assisted Allen Booth in the second half and later scored himself to interrupt the draw and lift Fonda-Fultonville before beating Johnstown 2-1 out of the league.

Andrew Kraszewski backed Dylan Raucci’s 10 saves with two goals and two assists, while Mechanicville upgraded to 13-0-1 by beating South Glens Falls 5-0.

Abby Chest, Chelsea Johnson and Jaidin Chest scored goals when Johnstown beat Glens Falls 3-0 in the Foothills women’s soccer game.

Claire D’Angelico scored two goals and Quincy Hitko made two assists in the 4-1 victory of the Cochus Colonial Council over Lansingburg.

Emma Farrell scored three goals in Voorheesville’s 6-1 win over Albany.

Amsterdam and Fonda-Fultonville played 2-2 in double overtime, with Jill Allen and Maddy Sebula scoring for the Rams while Karlie Atti and Ella Slezak scored for the Braves.

Alaina Fletcher scored two goals when Maple Hill beat Cambridge 3-1 in the Maple Hill title match.

South Glens Falls has lost its scheduled Monday night A-class soccer game in Troy due to a shortage of players. Flying Horses will play on Friday in Amsterdam.
