he Mexican U-23 national team will face their counterpart from Colombia this weekend at the home stadium of the Coyotes of the MX Expansion League, where Ricardo Cadena will make his debut as technical director of the team, a week after being appointed as the team’s technical director.
Cadena took over the management of the Tricolor youth team following the unexpected departure of Gerardo Espinoza after he applied to be Puebla’s technical director, which he cannot manage due to Liga MX regulations.
Ricardo Cadena became U17 champion with Chivas in the 2019 Apertura and took over the management of the first team in 2022, which he led to the repechage in the 2022 Apertura.
The game is the first of two friendly matches, the second taking place on Tuesday September 12th at the High Performance Center, albeit behind closed doors.
The team is preparing to form the team that will represent Mexico at the next Pan American Games from October 20 to November 5 in Santiago, Chile.
