He said that LeBron is “the best player statistically speaking” and sharply criticized his former teammate in the Chicago Bulls.
Scottie Pippen, who formed an insurmountable duo in the NBA with Michael Jordan in the 1990s, praised LeBron James and criticized his former Chicago boss teammate.
In an interview with Die-Hard Chicago Bulls Fans, Pippen tackled the ongoing debate about who is the best player in history, Michael Jordan or LeBron James, favoring the Los Angeles Lakers player.
“LeBron James will be statistically the best player to ever play basketball. There is no comparison to him. Does that make him the best player to ever play? I’ll leave that up for debate because I don’t think he’s a great player. Because our game is one team and one player is everything he can’t do it,” he thought.

Immediately after, he pointed out against Jordan: “I saw Michael Jordan play before I came to the Bulls, and you saw him too. He was a horrible player and he was horrible to play with. All 1 vs. bad shots.”
“Suddenly we became a team and started winning, and everyone forgot who they were,” he added.
It’s not the first time Pippen has targeted Jordan. Not going any further, he wrote in his memoirs: “I will go so far as to say that Mike lost basketball. In the 80s, in the park, you all moved the ball and passed to help the team. That stopped in the 90s. The kids wanted to be like Mike. Well, Mike didn’t want to pass the ball, but he also didn’t want to rebound or defend the best player on the opposing team.”
Scottie Pippen won six rings with the Chicago Bulls.
“He wanted us to do everything for him. That’s why I’ve always believed that LeBron James is the best to ever play the game, he does everything and represents everything about this game,” he added.
Pippen shared the floor with Jordan in six championships won by the Chicago Bulls, in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998.
