Section 22 accuses Salud de Oaxaca of negligence in case of children being bitten by bats

Oaxaca de Juarez.– Section 22 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) reported that it filed two complaints against Oaxaca Health Services (SSO) alleged negligence looking after the three children of bat bite in the Palo de Lima community of San Lorenzo Texmalucán, two of whom died.

The Secretary General of the Legal Commission of Section 22 of the SNTE, Rafael Sánchez Sánchez, specified that the complaints had been filed with the State Medical Arbitration Commission and the Oaxaca Human Rights Ombudsman.

At the same time, he declined to provide more details about the complaints submitted and to answer whether there was negligence by medical personnel in the case of two of the three minors who died of rabies from bat bites.

“The issue has very deep issues with Oaxaca’s health services and, unfortunately, because of the same processes that mediate and defend, the issue of providing more information is somewhat limited.”
