SF police search for missing absconding boy

SAN FRANCISCO: Police said they are seeking public help to locate an eight-year-old boy who went missing Tuesday.

In a statement just after 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said the boy, Le Michael Humphrey, had fled the house at the 1000 block of Mission Street around noon.

Police said he had run away in the past, often riding public transportation including BART and Muni, and was found once earlier at Oakland BART station.

He is described as 4-foot-10 and 110 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes, wearing braces and possibly blue glasses, and considered at risk due to his age and a medical condition.

Anyone who sees him should call the local police and be able to share his location and clothing details, police said, or call the San Francisco Police 24-hour tip line at 415-575-4444. Or text TIP411 and start your message with SFPD.
