This Saturday, September 16, at around 12:30 p.m., Shakira arrived in Barranquilla to perform the opening ceremony for the handover of the Nuevo Bosque-Pies Descalzos educational center in Barranquilla. The event was attended by hundreds of fans who wanted to see the artist.
The artist arrived at the facility accompanied by Mayor Jaime Pumarejo Heins. In addition, they presented her with several artistic performances with their musical hits such as “Waka Waka” and “Hips Don’t Lie”, so she was thrilled with the pleasant reception.

It should be noted that the Nuevo Bosque – Pies Descalzos school, with 6,000 square meters, will welcome approximately 1,000 students annually who will complete their primary and secondary education at the headquarters. In addition, it will be a community center that opens up development spaces for fathers, mothers, caregivers and other members of the community.
The project, which began in 2018, is now a reality in the Nuevo Bosque district south of Barranquilla. The school invested more than 16 billion euros to build 22 regular classrooms, four preschool classrooms, two laboratories, art classrooms, a library, a dining room, a kitchen and other common spaces for students and the community to use.
Representatives of allied organizations took part in the handover event.
