Shakira talks about her new album and sets a date for her next tour

2023 is Shakira’s year and we could almost say that 2024 will be the same too. After their breakup, the artist was able to rise from her ashes and conquer the world as a contemporary singer with her performance at the MTV VMAs.

The Waka Waka interpreter’s final step was to travel to Colombia, accompanied by her children, to inaugurate a school – Institución Educativa Distrital Nuevo Bosque Pies Descalzos – in one of the poorest areas of Barranquilla, which required an investment of four million dollars.

At a press conference, he confirmed that his foundation would continue to work to set up education centers in crisis areas. So far they have managed to build nine schools and three more are under construction.

“What we have learned with the (Pies Descalzos) foundation is that every time a school is built, the entire community is changed; we were in sectors where there was no drinking water or the roads were unpaved, there was no electricity, etc. “This type of infrastructure, in a way, changes the entire society,” cheered the Colombian.

Shakira sets a date for her next tour

In addition to talking about her philanthropic work, Shakira also spoke to the media about her next album and assured that she has already prepared nine songs, although there is no fixed date yet. She is clear that she feels great desire and motivation to continue making and recording music and that she hopes to “go back on the road” next year.

“The last year was very hard for me personally and professionally, life compensated me and my fans made sure of it,” he added, alluding to the controversial separation from his ex-partner at the beginning of the year and father of her children, the Spanish Player Gerard Pique.

Regarding his new phase, he insisted that “life is a constant addition and subtraction, people leave your life but new spaces open up, maybe new energies, the ones that have to stay, stay and from there you add you.”

The Barranquilla native always thought she was fragile, she says, but she is emerging stronger from a difficult year: “I have many reasons to fight now, much more than before.”

We still don’t have a release date for Shakira’s new album, although rumor has it it would be out in September.
