Shevchenko: “I won the fight.” Alexa only won two rounds

After finishing the fight on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 227, Valentina Shevchenko declared that she won the fight in which she challenged Mexico’s Alexa Grasso for the women’s flyweight championship and the judges declared a draw.

After five rounds, the scorecards dropped to 48–47, 47–48 and 47–47, giving Grasso the opportunity to retain the belt, a scenario that Shevchenko did not like as she expected to win three out of all five rounds remained.

What did Valentina Shevchenko say?

The action known as “Bullet” revealed that she had suffered a fracture in the thumb of her right hand during the first attack, which prevented her from performing better, but with everything and that she felt she was there with the victory.

“I disagree with the jury because I believe that three rounds were mine, Alexa only won two rounds. I think the pressure that the judges felt because of Mexican Independence Day was very great, so I think that influenced their decision. “I want the judges to make a fair decision, not because they favor one side or the other.”

Shevchenko wants revenge?

Valentina appeared in the interview with a splint on her right hand after suffering a thumb injury. He wants to recover fully first and then think about a possible trilogy against Grasso.

“I hurt myself in the first round and I think I broke my finger. It depends on how long it takes me to feel completely fine. It affected my fighting style, but I couldn’t stop because I felt the audience might be disappointed. “So many people came to watch the fight that I gave it my all so they could enjoy the event.”

We’ll have to wait until next year to see a potential third fight as both need to heal their wounds from the tremendous fight they put on Saturday night.
