Shimano has launched a review and replacement program for Hollowtech II cranks manufactured between 2012 and 2019

In order to provide a solution, Shimano has launched a program to review and inspect the aforementioned cranks manufactured before July 2019, through its network of authorized sales points, and to replace cranks that do not pass this process. in the inspection.

As Shimano explains, not all Hollowtech II 11-speed cranks need to be serviced. Only those manufactured between June 1, 2012 and June 30, 2019 will need to be serviced, and it is expected that a very small percentage of the connecting rods serviced will need to be replaced.

The products involved in this review and replacement program are the following crank models: Ultegra FC-6800 and FC-R8000 and Dura-Ace FC-9000, FC-R9100 and FC-R9100-P. The model numbers are stamped on the inside of the crank arm near the bottom.
