Violent conditions continue in Tamaulipas, now in Nuevo Laredo. This afternoon, Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas confirmed that there were shootings and blockades in different areas of the city, for which she asked the population to take shelter.
Some skirmishing took place between Monterrey and Lake Chapala at the height of Emiliano Zapata, southwest of the city.
For this reason, Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas asked residents of Nuevo Laredo not to leave their homes or workplaces if it is not necessary to avoid danger.
“Families, we have SDR in various areas of the city. I request you not to leave your homes or your workplaces if not necessary. I am in coordination with the authorities. I will keep you informed.”
According to some photos circulating, on social networks, users point out that there are blockades and strikes on main roads, as well as armed confrontations, which damaged some businesses.
Public transport is delayed
The Nuevo Laredo Public Transport Delegation indicated that units continue to operate with the relevant safety measures in place, although some routes such as Nogales, Cavazos Lerma and Periférico may have delays in their routes.
“Citizens are requested not to leave their homes or workplaces until they have more information from the authorities.”
So far, there hasn’t been much official information about what is happening in Nuevo Laredo, but residents reported that they heard several explosions.
During the early hours of this Thursday, on the Reynosa-San Fernando highway, there was an attack against elements of the National Guard and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), killing one element and wounding five.
