Various tutorials on how to jump start various models from Korean companies Hyundai and Kia that appeared on the TikTok social network made those models the most stolen cars in the United States. But there is one car brand that hasn’t had to cover on TikTok for its vehicles to be loved by expat friends in the United Kingdom. And that’s that six of its models are among the ten most stolen cars out there.
That company is none other than Land Rover, as a new study by insurance comparison company Confused.com compared the number of stolen cars of a particular model with the number of units registered across the United Kingdom. . And the study ruled that the car of choice for thieves is the Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic HSE D180.

Indeed, being able to choose between sports cars, gasoline cars or high-performance vehicles, thieves in the United Kingdom seem to have a weakness for diesel SUVs with 180 hp of power. This is because in the case of this R-Dynamic variant its components or sporty exterior appearance translates into a vital piece when the vehicle is taken apart to be sold for parts on the black market. But it is that the second model to follow it on the stolen cars list is none other than the Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic Black P400e, another SUV of which 44 units “disappeared” in 2022.

This list is intriguing at least and deserves a study by the British company. And it’s not unusual that the Range Rover Sport appears four times out of the ten most stolen cars in the United Kingdom. Of course, there are also two Range Rover Velars that won’t let their lucky owners sleep peacefully, just as it would make for the perfect excuse to jack up the price when renewing insurance. By the way, the latter is another issue that also alarms Land Rover owners in the United Kingdom.
Land Rover is the car brand preferred by thieves
Another detail that attracts attention is that the Lexus RX also appears on the third and fourth positions in this list of most stolen cars in the United Kingdom, made by Confused.com. This list monopolized by SUVs leaves room for only two more vehicles, which are the Ford Fiesta. What’s more curious is that the models most sought after by Alien’s friends are the special red and black editions.
Given past statistics, it is arguable that Land Rover has been ranked as the ‘most stolen brand’, as approximately 1% of Land Rovers that were registered were stolen, a figure higher than Mercedes-Benz. This is in contrast to Benz’s 0.3%, which is the second most stolen brand.
