Call it a slim-time matchup: The NFL game on Christmas Day between the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams will be broadcast by Nickelodeon.
The network, which previously aired the two playoff games, and CBS will take over television duties on December 25 at 4:30 p.m. EST. The Super Bowl champion Rams will host the game, which will also be streamed by Paramount+.
Nickelodeon has found success with NFL broadcasts on CBS as well as its youth-oriented broadcasts during wild-card weekends. This season, that collaboration will shift to the regular season and Christmas Day. This is expected to be part of a holiday tripleheader.
Another twist to the schedule, which will be released in full on Thursday night, will be a double header on the second Monday night of the schedule – with an overlap. 19, the Tennessee Titans will be in the Buffalo Bills for kickoff at 7:15 p.m. EDT. At 8:30, the Minnesota Vikings will take on the Eagles in Philadelphia. Typically, any Monday Night doubleheader consists of one game at a time.
The first announced international games were:
– November 13, the first regular-season NFL game in Germany, Tampa Bay vs. Seattle in Munich.
– On 9 October, Green Bay became the last team to play in Europe, facing the Giants in London at home to Premier League soccer team Tottenham. Last week, Minnesota plays New Orleans there.
– October 30, Wembley Stadium will host the Broncos against the Jaguars.
– November 21, San Francisco and Arizona in Mexico City.
The season will begin on Thursday, 8 September, possibly with the champion Rams as hosts.
