New DelhiPopular social media platform Snapchat is working on a paid subscription for users as it struggles to earn money after Apple made drastic changes to its iOS privacy.
Called Snapchat Plus, the paid subscription service is currently in “preliminary internal testing,” reports The Verge.
“We are conducting early internal testing of Snapchat Plus, a new subscription service for Snapchatters,” a company spokesperson said in the report late Thursday.

“We are excited about the ability to share exclusive, experimental and pre-release features with our customers, and learn more about how we can best serve our community,” the spokesperson said.
According to app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, Snapchat Plus will allow you to pin one of your friends as your “#1 BFF.”
The price of Snapchat Plus is currently listed as $4.84 per month and $48.50 per year, Paluzzi tweeted.
Not only Snapchat but many other popular apps have started rolling out subscription service after Apple introduced a privacy feature with iOS 14.5 that allows users to turn off ad tracking for apps.
Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of instant messaging platform Telegram, confirmed this month that a subscription-based offering called ‘Telegram Premium’ will be arriving later this month.
“After some thought, we realized that the only way to keep our existing features free to our most demanding fans is to make those increased limits a paid option,” Durov said in a blogpost.
“That’s why we will introduce Telegram Premium, a subscription plan that allows anyone to get additional features, speed and resources,” he said.
Twitter last year offered its first paid subscription called Twitter Blue, which will give users a 30-second undo option to erase any typos, among other premium features.
