More than 20 years after we first saw it, Shrek has positioned itself as a true cult film. The first title in the series was released in 2001 and quickly became one of the most important animated films of all time, increasing Dreamworks’ success and winning an Academy Award for Best Animated Film. From then to now, the green ogre film has not stopped winning fans.
Such is its influence that we’ll continue to be happy to see references to the film anywhere in 2023. In fact, rumors of a fifth installment in the franchise shock the entire internet every time they surface on social media, and we may actually be closer than ever to seeing Shrek, Fiona and Donkey back on the big screen. But in this whole wave of fanaticism, the fashion industry could not be left behind. A few years ago, a coy Supreme collection added green ears to its iconic logo (a collection recently worn by Shakira). but it was at Crocs where they weren’t afraid of success.
A collaboration between Crocs and Shrek is in the works. The definitive ode to ugliness based on green rubber and ears that no one can resist because you will end up falling in love. And the green ogre, lonely and moody but with a big heart, has inspired a new pair of the world’s most famous clogs. As strange as this couple may seem, they were almost destined to be together because although they may not look particularly pleasant on the outside, they are soft on the inside and will end up becoming your comfort zone. While we can assume that Shrek fans won’t hesitate for a second to get a pair of these clogs, take a moment to check them out because they’re one of the American brand’s funniest models.
Shrek fever has arrived on the original model of Crocs clogs. The classic clog. The color scheme was clear: The clog is totally green imitates the ogre’s skin with all its details. The strap, in turn, refers to the figure’s coarse clothing. Finished in brown and covered in fur, it features the Shrek “S” logo on the sides, making it clear that this collaboration is a very serious matter.
The best thing about the Shrek Crocs, however, are the included Jibbitz, those pins that fit into the upper perforations of the shoes and provide additional customization. In this case, The pins are part of the design because Shrek’s face can be recreated on the clogs with two ears and a nose. It’s a detail that’s particularly fun for the daring ones who really want to go for a walk with Shrek, but they can also be removed and worn with a more subtle version – in the discretion of a few green clogs – of your new favorite shoes.
Crocs has not yet officially confirmed the release of the Shrek Classic Clog, but They are expected to go on sale later this month.. Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to be able to carry our own Shrek on our feet to go to the cinema to see a fifth Shrek film. Right now, they’re the perfect pair of shoes for getting dirty in the mud like it’s a swamp, because even that would add an extra touch of personality and realism to the funniest clogs Crocs will release this year.
