OMAHA, Neb. ( Associated Press) — Cade Horton scored a career-high 11 runs in six innings, Tanner Treadway continued his tough post-season run with three hits and Oklahoma scored a 6-2 win over Notre in the College World Series. Take control of your bracket. Sunday night son-in-law.
The Sooners (44-22) need one more win to reach the best of three final starting Saturday. They will play on Wednesday against the winner of Tuesday’s elimination game between Notre Dame (41-16) and Texas A&M. The Aggies beat Texas 10-2 on Sunday.
Horton, who had Tommy John surgery 16 months earlier and didn’t pitch until March 29, played at least six innings for his third straight start. The redshirt freshman stopped the Irish scorer on three singles in the first five innings.
Horton (5-2) left David Lamanna’s two-run homer in sixth place and did not return to seventh. He threw a season-high 100 pitches.
The tradeaway continued to be a catalyst for Sooners. He is now batting 513 (20 of 39) in the NCAA Tournament, scoring 3 for 4 and extending his hitting streak to 16 games. He scored two runs and scored two runs.
Notre Dame starter Austin Temple faced three of the eight batters and was dismissed with one in the second. Reliever Aidan Tyrell (5-2) was out of the innings but faced trouble in the third.

Putz hit four of the Irish’s seven, surpassed his last eighth inning and inspired the players Notre Dame dugout to grab its “Rally Bananas”.
Irish players have been taking out bananas during the latter part of the season, when they need a positive mojo late in the innings. If something good happens, the players take a bite. But Jack Ziska started a double game and Lamanna moved up to eighth.
The Irish got their first two batters on base in the ninth, but Clarke stepped on the bag in third and threw first for a double play when Zack Prajner fielded him. Travin Michaels dismisses Ryan Cole to end the game.

Oklahoma’s fourth inning ended on a crazy play when Peyton Graham singled out in right field and OU’s John Spiekerman scored a second goal and finished third.
Right fielder Brooks Coetzee threw in third to get to Speckerman, but the ball flew out of Jack Brannigan’s glove as he tried to tag. The ball took off from third base coach Clay Van Hook and came to rest next to Brannigan. He picked it up and tagged Spykerman, who didn’t realize the ball had come out of the glove and turned to return to the dugout.

The game began with some excitement as OU first baseman Blake Robertson slammed onto the Notre Dame dugout rail while catching Cole’s pop foul on the first pitch of the game. Robertson raised his glove to show the umpires hanging on to the ball.
