South Dakota led 13-10 at half-time before Kinzer Madison blocked the pant and Bauer Canyon brought him back 9 yards early in the third quarter. After Leathernecks bounced off Miles Wanza’s 15-yard TD, the Jackrabbits added Strong’s 17-yard TD and Jaxon Janke’s 21-yard hold to lead 34-17 to the final quarter.
Strong, who added his second touchdown of the game and ninth this season in the fourth quarter, finished 122 yards with 19 carries. He collected his fifth 100-yard game this season and 15th of his career.
Jahnke finished 101 yards with nine hauls for the Jackrabbits (5-1, 2-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference), finishing eighth in the FCS Coach Poll.
Connor Sampson showed 29 of 51 passes for 207 yards, but didn’t score for the Leathers (1-6, 1-3).
