A new feature will air on Tuesday, September 26 worldwide at Spotify it is Jam, a feature that will allow online collaboration with a list of 32 people at a time, with song playback and uploading.
“Today we’re introducing Jam, a personalized, real-time listening session for your group to work together. Jam builds on some of our popular social features and combines them with our personalization technology to get take real-time listening to friends to the next level. With Jam, Premium subscribers can invite others to contribute through a shared queue and enjoy a music experience made just for everyone. listening,” said Spotify.
Once you start a Jam, you can invite a group of friends or family (free or premium users, or a mix) so they can share the experience. Premium listeners can join anywhere, whether they’re in the same room or across the world.
To start the feature, select a playlist or song that excites you. You can find the “Start a Jam” button by clicking on the speaker icon at the bottom of the screen or by pressing the three-dot menu within your favorite playlist or song. You can also choose a device to play on, whether it’s your phone or speaker. Those in your home on your shared Wi-Fi will also be prompted to join the Jam when they open Spotify.
You can invite your squad in one of three ways:
- Turn on Bluetooth and then touch your phones
- Have your friends scan the QR code on your host’s screen
- Press “share” to send the link via social media, text, SMS and more
Everyone on Jam can add songs to the queue, see who added which song, and get recommendations, all from their own devices. The host also has the ability to determine who is in the Jam, change the order of the tracks, or remove a song that doesn’t fit the mood.
