SSE Group consolidates itself in the US with a plant in Chattanooga in which it invested 40 million

The Sesse Group is consolidated in the United States by the arm of Volkswagen, an automobile manufacturer with which it operates in several countries. The Aragonese company has been operating a plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, for about a year, in which it assembles front and rear axles for the German brand’s two models, one combustion and one electric. The centre, in which it has invested 40 million euros, has a capacity of 1,300,000 assemblies per year, which translates into a total of 325,000 vehicles.

Sesé, as reported by company sources this Wednesday, integrally manages the supply chain for the automotive industry at all its stages, including the assembly of all types of modules for a vehicle. In this sense, the company has impressed that the assembly of front and rear axles for electrified and combustion models at the Chattanooga plant is supplied directly to the manufacturer ‘just to order’. To accomplish this, it has a team of over 400 people, coordinates over 100 suppliers and manages over 360 sub-components, all across two Volkswagen models, the ID-4 of the MEB electric platform, and To build the Atlas, a combustion vehicle of the MQB platform.

“This project has made it possible to strengthen Sese’s position as a strategic partner for the automotive industry, as well as our ability to successfully develop a comprehensive project and deliver it from start to finish; From the location of the land, the complete construction of the plant, the design of production lines, the installation of technical equipment, system integration, start-up, start-up in testing and prototyping, until the first delivery in Series 0”, said Arcelli Carrasco, CEO of Sesse USA told.

Sesay has eight production centers around the world in which it undertakes assembly and integral assembly of any vehicle module. Of these, the company specifies, the United States plant is the newest and most advanced in terms of innovation, technology and Industry 4.0. It has 28,000 square meters of industrial activity and four production lines in which 16 collaborative automated robots interact with 56 automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

Of the other seven CeSe plants, four are in Spain (in Palau and Abrera, both in Catalonia, in Jaén and Pamplona), one in Mexico (in Puebla) and two in Germany (in Heilbronn and Emden).

The Valentine Group recorded a turnover of 854 million Euros in 2022, a 23% increase over the previous year.
