A St. Paul man was charged Monday with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl on the Green Line light rail, officials said.
Brandon Trumaneau Lindsay, 38, of St. Paul, was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct via a warrant in Ramsey County District Court.
According to the criminal complaint, on September 3, a 15-year-old girl boarded a train at the Rice Street stop for a ride in the Dinkytown area near the University of Minnesota.
As she was boarding the train, a man asked her to hold the door for her. He sat beside her and offered her drugs which she refused.
She told the police that she could smell alcohol on him, the complaint said.
The man then grabbed the back of her neck and took her head in his lap, demanding that she perform oral sex with her while groping her, the complaint said. The man got off the train. The girl continued to go to Dinketown, told her sister what had happened and called the police.
Surveillance video captured the attack inside the train car. Police recognize Lindsay, find her on a train, and arrest her. The complaint states that Lindsay protested the police by shouting and kicking officers.
Lindsay’s criminal record includes convictions for drugs, trespass, theft and pornographic exposure, and public obscenity.
He was not in custody till Monday evening. According to the Ramsey County Jail, his hold expired on September 10, before officers were able to provide probable cause for being charged.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
