Stanford stays alive with 8-4 win over Texas State

Stanford, Calif. ( Associated Press) — Carter Graham scored two home runs, Drew Bowser hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh inning and No. 2 overall seeded Stanford scored in an 8-4 win over Texas State on Sunday. night, forcing Monday’s showdown between schools for the Stanford regional title.

Dalton Sheffield’s single homer in fifth and Peyton Lewis’ RBI single in sixth got the Bobcats within one run.

Ty Uber (4-1) took five innings to lead Stanford to victory. He conceded three runs in three hits and four walks. Ryan Bruno allowed a walk after scoring only four runs in the last two innings.

Texas State starter Tony Robbie (4–1) was tagged in with his first loss after conceding eight hits and five runs on two walks in 4 1/3 innings.
