GLASGOW, Scotland – US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez unveiled her climate star at the UN climate talks, saying she hopes the United States will once again lead the world in the fight against global warming.
When asked if she had a message to young activists urging governments to reduce climate-damaging fossil fuel pollution, Ocasio-Cortez told reporters at the conference venue, “Well, I would say, ‘Stay on the streets.’ Keep pushing. ‘”

Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat who was elected to Congress in 2018 to significantly step up U.S. efforts to cut emissions and otherwise cope with a warming earth, accompanied the delegation led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
On Tuesday, members spent their first morning in talks in Glasgow, Scotland.
