The Philadelphia 76ers will be in the mix when it comes to the NBA title conversation after they made the big move for future Hall of Famer James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets. The Sixers have been wanting to have Harden team up with Joel Embiid for quite some time so now they have their guy.
There will be a lot of pressure on Harden and the Sixers to figure this entire thing out as they move forward and ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is putting it all on The Beard. Harden said he always wanted to be in Philadelphia and now this is his chance to get the job done after the Sixers gave the Nets so much in order to acquire Harden.
You basically said, I know these pieces are going to help them, but I don’t care because James Harden is worth it and with James Harden saying what he said like we pointed out in his Philadelphia 76ers press conference, he basically put the world on notice this is where he wanted to be. He knew that Tilman Feritta and the Houston Rockets were not going to make a deal with Daryl Morey in Philadelphia because Daryl Morey left them abruptly. This is what it’s all about. This is what you wanted all along. You got it. You got to deliver.

,[76ers] have to win the East, which means they have to be better than Brooklyn. … This is what [James Harden] wanted all along. You got it, you got to deliver!” pic.twitter.com/lQGTxnHbqP

Harden will not play for the Sixers until after the All-Star break–likely on Feb. 25 against the Minnesota Timberwolves–and there will be a lot of eyes on him when he does step on the floor. Philadelphia will not have much time left when he does come back, only 24 games after the break, and Philadelphia will have to figure everything out quickly as they chase a title.
