While Jordan’s Bulls won six championships in the ’90s (three of them under Kerr), the Warriors have been the dominant force in recent history. They have won four rings in eight seasons, quickly becoming one of the most popular teams in the NBA in the United States and globally.
The Golden State coach believes Curry’s popularity has played a part in this, making him a recognizable star for all fans.
“We haven’t seen anything like him and I think people can identify with him because He is not a superhero in terms of his size and strength.”, Kerr added.
“He’s 6’1” and 180lbs. There are many people who are in shape, but no one can do what he does. He is incredibly motivating and as a result we get a lot of support away from home. commented the coach.
Due to Curry’s recent absence with a shoulder injury, the reigning champions’ quest for repeat success has gotten off to a rocky start.
After Monday’s win over the Wizards, the Warriors now sit at 22-22, which is good enough for sixth place in the Western Conference.
