Strong earthquake struck Mexico City

Mexico City Due to the strong earthquake in Mexico City this Tuesday night, people had to get out of their homes.

So far, officials have not reported any injured people.

The United States Geological Survey adjusted the magnitude of the earthquake downward. Initially, he reported that it was 7.4, but shortly afterwards he stated that it was magnitude 7 and that its center was at Los Organos de San Agustin in the southern state of Guerrero.

The Mexican Seismological Service indicated an initial magnitude of 6.9.

Mexico has rebuilt less than half of the homes damaged or destroyed by the 7.1 magnitude earthquake on 19 September and the 8.1 magnitude earthquake on 7 September 2017. The 1985 earthquake also occurred on 19 September.

Mexico on Thursday remembered the anniversary of the 2017 earthquakes that killed at least half a thousand people, and the devastating 1985 earthquake that killed 9,500.
