Studio audience returns to Mad as Hell | TV Tonight

For the first time in months, a studio audience returned to Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell adding a sorely needed “live” feel to the show, which our trusty host was clearly relishing.

It was an almost-full house, masked and vaccinated at ABC Southbank studios, in keeping with Victorian Covid regulations.

The show won its slot at 487,000 metro viewers then Under Investigation (410,000), The Front Bar (349,000), Concorde: Secrets Behind the Crash (171,000), and Bull (158,000 / 153,000) last in its slot.

Earlier Married at First Sight 908,000 won then Hard Quiz (589,000), half past seven (490,000), SAS Australia (365,000), Ambulance Australia (269,000) then Tony Robinson: the Thames at Night (161,000).

Nine network won Wednesday with 35.1% well ahead of Seven 25.1%, ABC 16.8%, 10 14.8% and SBS 8.3%.

Nine News drew 845,000 / 830,000 for Nine. A Current Affair won with 711,000 then Hot Seat (368,000 / 252,000) and late news (221,000).

Seven News was #1 at 953,000 / 897,000 for Seven. Home & Away was 495,000 then The Chase (478,000 / 297,000). Ambulance: Code Red was 169,000.

ABC News pulled 637,000 for ABC. starstruck (209,000), The Drum (125,000) and Adam Hills: The Last Leg (124,000) followed.

The Project was 355,000 / 223,000 for 10. 10 News First was 292,000 / 207,000.

On SBS it was SBS World News (134,000 / 106,000), Mastermind (79,000) and Hidden Assets (70,000).

For the third night running 7TWO led multichannels, now with The Coroner (121,000).
