The Mexico City government announced Thursday that services will be suspended at three train stations in Mexico City Metro line 9 because they will intervene to align the train tracks.
In a press conference, Mexico City’s Minister of Labor and Services, Jesus Esteva, stated this This procedure will take approximately 5 months. and nearly 220 million pesos will be invested, including 180 million pesos for Sobse and 40 million pesos for the Metro Collective Transportation System.
The three stations that will be closed from November this year to March 2024 are: Sports City, Puebla and Pantitlán. From Tacubaya to Velodromo, service will continue as normal.
The head of government of CDMX, Martí Batres, pointed out that these works will begin after the restoration of metro line 1, which is currently being rebuilt.
“Two parallel subway lines will not be closed at any time, Line 1 and Line 9 will not be closed at any time.”
Transportation alternatives
For his part, the mobility secretary of the CDMX, Andrés Lajous, pointed this out Three new routes are activated to transport users of the three stations on line 9.
These transport alternatives aim to facilitate user transfer. One of them will even replicate the route of subway line 9.
The first route is a metro bus which will have a route from the Canal de San Juan on Avenida Zaragoza to the Lázaro Cárdenas metro station on line 9 on axis 3.
In addition, 80 buses will be activated Passenger transport network (RTP) from Pantitlán to Velodromo (9 kilometers route).

The first two options are free services while the third costs 4 pesos.
