Syria’s military said Israel carried out airstrikes on the central and western provinces on Monday night, wounding two soldiers and damaging material.
The military said Israeli warplanes fired missiles while flying over neighboring Lebanon. It said Syrian air defenses shot down most of the Israeli missiles, without elaborating.
In neighboring Lebanon, a woman was slightly injured and several houses were damaged when parts of Syrian anti-aircraft missiles fell in the northeastern Lebanese village of Sahalat al-Ma, near the Syrian border, the state-run national news agency said.
The attacks come amid a rise in alleged attacks by Israel on Syria in recent weeks.
Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks on military bases linked to Iran in Syria over the years, but rarely acknowledges or discusses such operations.
Israel, however, has acknowledged that it is targeting targets of Iran-allied groups, such as the powerful Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.
Israel says an Iranian presence on its northern border is a red line, and has repeatedly struck what it described as Iran-linked facilities and weapons convoys earmarked for the Lebanese terrorist Hezbollah group.
