Taylor Swift fans have raised a dire warning for those hoping to get their hands on a ticket to her Eras Tour.
Many young Australian fans have fallen victim to scammers claiming to be selling tickets on social media for his sold-out dates in Sydney and Melbourne.
Dodgy scammers are finding new ways to steal thousands of dollars from Swifties – including hacking into their friends’ Facebook accounts.
The trick leads fans to believe that the ticket resale is legitimate, as the victim believes it is from someone they know or a friend.
Grace, 20, from Sydney told 2GB’s Ben Fordham she was $1200 out of pocket after she bought four fake tickets from a ‘friend of a friend’.
‘I messaged them, and they sent a screenshot of the email confirmation that they bought these tickets. It has their name on it, the tickets section, it has four tickets,’ he explained.
‘So none of my alarm bells went off because everyone looked over board at me.’
When Grace transferred the $1200, the account immediately blocked her from all contact.
‘I was like, “Oh, God, it’s ringing alarm bells right now,” she added.
‘I tried to call a friend’s friend’s number and when they finally answered they said “I’ve had six more calls like this today, my Facebook has been hacked. That’s not what I posted.” ‘
The young woman tried to contact her bank, who unfortunately said there was nothing they could do.

‘Because Facebook is irresponsible,’ he continued. ‘If it’s a dodgy website or something, it’s a lot easier for them to get my funds back.
‘I just have to lose that money, basically.’
Another fan, named Yin, also fell victim to a Facebook scam similar to Grace.
‘I found a group on Facebook that claims there are no scammers and sells legitimate Taylor Swift tickets. And I fell for it,’ he said.
Swiftie shelled out $300 just to get the ticket, before she was told she had to buy two.
