Teachers from Zacatecas will be able to teach in schools in the United States

  • The United States-Mexico Teacher Exchange Program seeks to foster a better understanding of the educational systems of both countries and strengthen teaching processes: Villalpando Haro
  • Teachers of basic and higher secondary education who have proven experience in front of a group and are certified in the English language can participate.

Guadalupe, Zac., January 8, 2023.- In response to Governor David Monreal Avila’s commitment to maintaining education at all levels, it aims to strengthen the educational services provided to the population of Zacatecan and Mexican descent living in the United States.

In this vein, the Secretary of Education of Zacatecas invited teachers of basic and upper secondary education to participate in the selection process for the 2023 Mexico-United States teacher exchange program.

Maribel Villalpando Haro, Head of the Educational Unit, explained that the purpose of the event is to promote a better understanding of the educational systems of both countries in order to strengthen the teaching processes.

This work is done through the participation of educators trained to provide care in multicultural contexts, who will be able to travel to different cities in the United States for three- to eight-week stays during the summer of 2023.

Teachers who wish to participate will be able to work with Mexican students or children of Mexican parents, with whom national identity will be strengthened, some educational deficiencies will be regularized, and the use of the Spanish language will be strengthened.

This type of practice has resulted in the adaptation of migrant students to basic education, so that they can attend school grades that suit them and continue their academic training if they return to their home country.

This is achieved thanks to the fact that the program develops techno-pedagogical tools appropriate to the educational needs of migrant populations and specifically directed at children and youth.

To participate in the call, you can contact the link https://web.seduzac.gob.mx/programaintercambio/ or, alternatively, you can contact the staff of the Binational Migrant Education Program at the Ministry of Education.

Teachers must prove through a series of documents of Mexican nationality that they have a bachelor’s degree and a degree in education.

In the same way, they must have a passport valid till December 31, 2023, their proof document of English language proficiency level B1 in four communication skills or CENNI level 12 certificate.

Documents will be received from the publication of this call until February 2, 2023 at the Office of the Binational Migrant Education Program of the Secretary of Education of Zacatecas in a single issue.
