Texas Republican formally dismisses Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory as ‘illegitimate’

Nearly two years after US Elections 2020 announced Joe Biden as US President, Republicans in Texas formally declared the Democratic presidential victory illegitimate. While the US Congressional Committee is investigating last year’s January 6 Capitol attack, when supporters of former US President Donald Trump stormed the federal building, Texas Republicans rejected Joe Biden’s victory at a state-wide convention. However, the Texas party said in a motion, “We reject the proven results of the 2020 presidential election, and we believe that Acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States.”

The cornerstone Republican state, Texas, is a significant player in the country’s politics and holds 38 electoral votes, second only to California. According to the report, the White House did not comment on the matter.

Two-thirds of Republicans believe the election was stolen from Trump

In the backdrop of a US congressional committee investigating Trump’s efforts to reverse his election defeat, nearly two-thirds of Texas Republicans believe recent polls stole the 2020 presidential election from a former US president went.
