Thanks to Adames’ great day, the Brewers dominated the Bronx

William Contreras hit a go-ahead single during a three-run attack in the seventh inning, and the Milwaukee Brewers hit Dominican rookie Jasson Dominguez’s fourth home run to beat the Brewers 8-2 on Friday. The New York Yankees

Milwaukee extended its lead at the top of the NL Central to three games over the second-place Chicago Cubs.

A week after his major league debut, Dominguez gave the Yankees a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the second inning off Colin Rea. The 20-year-old became the youngest since at least 1901 to hit four home runs in his first seven games.

Dominican Willy Adames tied the score in the fourth inning with a two-run home run off Dominican Luis Severino, who left an inning later because of a left-side injury.

Venezuelan Andruw Monasterio hit a double to start the eighth inning against Dominican Jhony Brito (6-7). Contreras singled off Nicaraguan Jonathan Loaisiga to bring the game to 3-2, and Dominican Carlos Santana added an RBI single.

For the Brewers, the Venezuelans were Contreras 5-2 with one run scored and one RBI, and Monasterio 5-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. The Dominicans Santana was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Adames was 2-for-4 with one run scored and three RBIs. Mexican Rowdy Téllez, 5-1
