Many wrestlers hung thongs on hooks
“That was my last Confederacy!”
Christian Stuckey announced after Federal that he would continue his career the following spring. But there are other bad guys who won’t get into the Ring of Sawdust in the future.
In eighth gear, Kylian Wenger defeated Tobias Widmer in a Prateln.
Almost exactly a year ago, Kylian Wenger caused unrest in his huge fan community with a statement in a Blick interview: “It is quite possible that I will end my career with a good result in the next Swiss confederation.”
Last Sunday, the 2010 Wrestling King achieved a good ranking in Pratelen. With fifth place, the 32-year-old secured her fifth federal crown! Is this now synonymous with the end of a great wrestling career? “It was my last participation in a federal. But it was almost certainly not my last,” Wenger says. “I think the fire of wrestling is not yet extinguished in my heart. And so I will probably do it again next year. I will enter the ring, which will be one of the highlights of the season at Anaspannan.”

Ah and Notzley’s trousers hang on the hook
The same probably applies to Bernhard Kampf (34), who finished sixth in the Prateln. “If I had stopped now, you wouldn’t be able to discuss the controversial referee’s decisions any more,” the Sigrisville man smiles.
The two-time Brünig winner pointed to his win against Pyrmin Reichmuth. Three-time wrestler Raja Jörg Abderhalden and Central Swiss legend Adi Liembacher complained that Kampf himself lay on his back before his winning throw. ESV’s technical manager, Stefan Strebel, was initially of the same opinion. But after analyzing the video image several times, he creeps back. “It was not a wrong decision!”
“I Can’t Stop With A Missed Wreath”
Schwyz’s Christian Schuler has bad memories of Prateln. The 35-year-old has missed his sixth ESAF wreath. So Schuler has put his retirement plans to the side. “I can’t stop the contest where I missed the wreath.”
Schuler’s ISV collaborators Benji von Ahn and Reto Notzli, on the other hand, will not appear in Sawdust next year.
In the north-eastern Switzerland camp, Michael Blaise hangs his thong immediately after the Confederate one. And what about 48-year-old Stephen Burkhalter (111 Wreaths)? «Maybe next spring I will choose Thurgau Cantonal because I won my first wreath on this occasion in 1994. But after that it will finally be over.”
