This meeting is a starting point for starting discussions on visa waiver. In fact, Murillo emphasized that after four years the phase of consular relations between the two countries has been resumed.
Specifically, issues such as legal options for migration through mechanisms such as non-immigrant visas, access to inaccessible categories of temporary visas, in addition to validating titles of Colombians in the United States, cooperation to support compatriots were discussed. and the family reunification program recently opened by this nation.
“During this meeting, issues of mutual interest were addressed, particularly migration issues from a different perspective to enable human migration and safe and supportive mobility,” the official commented on X.
