Therefore, in many homes, these leaves are broken and stored in the refrigerator. But if these leaves are not stored properly, they start turning black which causes them to lose their flavor and effect, so today we are going to tell you some tips to preserve basil leaves-
Freeze the leaves
If you want to preserve basil leaves, keep them in the fridge. For this, first break the leaves and wash them well with water. Next, store these in a plastic storage bag and refrigerate. But keep in mind that basil leaves should not be completely dry and wet before refrigerating.
Dry the leaves and store in the fridge
Even if you keep the basil leaves in the fridge without washing them, they stay fresh for a long time. For this, do not wrap these leaves in plastic. For this reason they become brown, black or have spots on them. Then after the water of this leaf dries, put it in an air tight glass box and keep it in the fridge.
Save the leaves in water
If you want to preserve these leaves for 10 days, place the stalks of those leaves in a vase of water and keep at room temperature. When doing this, you cut off the lower leaves of this leaf because the leaves that get water will soon turn black. So keep it open and keep it where the light comes from. But when doing this, keep in mind that it should not be hot. Then after a few days keep changing its water and keep cutting the stalks from the bottom, otherwise they will start to get sticky from the bottom. You can use these basil leaves as needed.
