There’s something the Eternals can do that the Avengers can’t. This is how they explain it at Marvel Studios.
Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye had to team up to defeat Loki and his Chitauris army. So began the journey of the Avengers, a group of heroes who, despite their differences, had to work together to defeat all kinds of threats. While the Eternals are immortal beings created by the Celestials who have long lived on Earth and were on a mission to stop the Deviants.
Now producer and Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore explains the big difference between “The Avengers” and “The Eternals” in “Eternals: The Art of the Movie.”
The most important thing is that they can focus their energy.
“What sets the Eternals apart from other groups in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, is that they can combine their energies.”
“The One-Spirit allows the Eternals to amplify the power of each Eternal. However, for this to happen, everyone has to be connected in some way. You cannot be on opposite sides of the world and create one mind. They must be close to each other. But it could allow Makkari to run faster than ever before. It could allow Druig to control every mind on a planet. “It’s an amplifier device, but it requires the power of all the Eternals combined.”
The Avengers work together, but they don’t have this ability. That’s why Ryan Meinerding, head of visual development at Marvel Studios, reveals:
“In phases one to three, we established a consistent and coherent language across all the different projects we worked on. Fortunately, many of these images were well received by the public. They understand who Captain America is, who Iron Man is and who is on the Avengers team. The challenge in forming a new team is to create images that stand out from previous successes and create something that feels compelling and different, but still part of the MCU.”
“These challenges are explicit and are intensified in this project due to the size of the team and the fact that every character is featured in this film. We had never tried this in a similar way before with so many characters. “It was a big challenge.”
