The Ministry of Education and the Family Business Association of Castilla y Leon (EFCL) are working in coordination to bring the world of work closer to the schools of the Community and to stimulate entrepreneurial behavior among students.
In this context, both institutions convened the fifth edition of the contest “Imagine your society”, in which 5th and 6th grade students of all schools in Castilla y Leon can participate.
Students can compete in teams of between three and six classmates under a teacher. In their work, they must describe each aspect of the company: trade name, standard paper, sector and location, activity and manufacturing process and marketing processes. Finally, they should choose the form of presentation that best represents their work – written or visual, also using other elements that support their content.
The final project submissions are open until next Saturday, April 1, and must be delivered to the corresponding Provincial Directorate of Education. The judges, who will rule before June 2, will evaluate the creativity and specificity of the business idea of the participants, the innovativeness of the project, the business approach of the presented idea, regardless of the viability, as well as the presentation and clarity of the presentation of the document.
This competition is part of the “Family Businesses in Classrooms” Program, whose fifth edition is also being developed by EFCL and the Ministry of Education to make students aware of the role and relevance of family businesses in the economy and society, and its values. to promote the vocations of employers among the smallest.

Founded in June 1997 with the aim of continuously promoting domestic business, EFCL is made up of more than 160 family businesses from all over Castilla y Leon, leaders in their respective sectors, whose global turnover is equivalent to 17.4% of GDP. 8.7% of the population of the Community are employed in the private sector.
The fundamental objective of the Castilla y Leon Family Business is to actively help family businesses to develop and transform themselves in order to promote and contribute to a more sustainable development of the Company.
