Although we saw the first details of the BYD Song L in concept form back in April, it wasn’t until last summer when the Chinese brand presented the electric SUV. BYD Song L (despite the camouflage), on the occasion of the 2023 Shanghai Motor Show.
Today, the Chinese brand revealed the BYD Song L without camouflage. about an electric SUV coming to complement the BYD Seal U the SUV version of the well-known BYD Seal sedan that is already on sale in Spain and will soon be followed by the SUV variant we are talking about.
Unlike the BYD Seal U (BYD Song Plus EV in China), the Song L has a sporty look. It is based on the company’s 3.0 platform, and mounts its LFP-type Blade batteries, enabling Autonomies of more than 660 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. It is offered in a motor version with two battery capacities: 71.8 kWh or 87 kWh, and two motor versions with an 87 kWh battery. In addition, technologically speaking, it incorporates the brand’s DiSus-A system, which we have already seen in the impressive BYD YangWang U9 sports car.
Without a doubt, and based on the data mentioned above, this is a very interesting car. So much so, that the Chinese public showed it in the form of pre-orders, gathered a total of 11,000 reservations for this upcoming all-electric SUV from BYD.
The company’s goal is to launch it first in its home market; China, before the end of the year.
